Yep, I've done that mission with a stock flamethrower with using sentry guns. Like, LOADS of them now...

At wave 4, Steelpounds suffer less damage due to their armor like all bullets, fire, and explosives so I had to waste time airblasting them that had the bomb first out of getting to the hatch that others were getting the bomb first, to get to the charged pyros next. The tank wasn't all bad though, it has a decent large health pool and I somehow like the little fast movement of the tank - if it's that necessary to change all things, I would mind that from your permission to do that anyway...
From wave 6, I had to use crit canteens, more sentry guns, and a bit more time to defeat the boss. Since it does not regenerate health, deflecting rockets with large damage and using the 'flame-airblast-shotgun' method will get it done quickly since it takes care of spawned large health-empty ammo sentry guns AND me all at once.

Anyway, this was done through sv_cheats 1 with using strength, fully upgraded weapons and buddhism mode (and using crits, so IDC)
