A Texas priest has been excommunicated and dismissed from the clerical state after a Church tribunal found him guilty of schism. John Mary Foster publicly called Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV “usurpers” and continued celebrating Mass despite restrictions. The Archbishop of San Antonio is now warning Catholics not to attend his ministry while calling for prayers for his repentance and reconciliation with the Church.
