Sean Cody | Texas NFA Gun Trust: Friday at the Range w/ Third Coast Thermal @SeanCodyTexasLegalDefense | Uploaded May 2016 | Updated October 2024, 29 minutes ago.
TexasNFATrust.com went to the range to try out some new Mini-DVR equipment from Third Coast Thermal, LLC.
ThirdCoastThermal.com sells these Mini-DVRs, IR Hunter and Armasight and Pulsar Thermal Weapon Sights.
Open Carry Friday at the Range: Finally, after weeks, the range is dried out. Went to the range for some testing. Trying out a third coast thermal video camera.
.
I am working on thermal video and I used the Minister DVR that I got from Third Coast Thermal, LLC to record from the FLIR RS64
I ran the FLIR/mini-DVR combo on my Hodge Defense AU-MOD 1. The video was good considering the conditions.
The conditions: flat temperature wise. It was a 90f+ day and the steel was approximately the same temperature as the berm. So from a thermal perspective everything was approximately the same color in the ocular display. I was able to ID the steel. But it's not optimal.
I used the IR Hunter MkII on my POF P416 with the Trek-Ti. I tried to get through the sight video with a mount I made. It just wasn't nearly as good as it looked to the naked eye.
The Hog Saddle works. It's one of the best purchases I have made.
