THQ's Tetris DS is an entirely different game to Nintendo's Tetris DS and was under development for months and appeared to be nearing completion. It was planned to release in March 2005 and was even rated by the ESRB.
Instead, THQ would go to court in April 2005 and filed a complaint against The Tetris Company for an alleged breach of their license to Tetris which prevented them from publishing their game for the DS. The two companies would settle in 2006 and THQ would go on to publish Tetris Evolution for the Xbox 360 in 2007. The aftermath resulted in this DS game getting shelved.
Multiple builds of THQ's Tetris DS would later surface on eBay, and TCRF was lucky to get its own copy.
