A Vortex-i PC-controlled torque tester measures the minimum torque before a Luer lock fitting on a syringe barrel begins to rotate. A versatile set of custom made fixtures have been designed to fit a range of synringe barrels of different lengths. The Vortex-i is driven by Emperor software, which controls the movement of the torque tester, collects the data and checks if the sample is within the specified range before displaying a colour coded "Pass" or "Fail" result. All the results can be saved and, if needed, the raw measurement data can be exported to Microsoft Excel for additional analysis.
