Our engineers are helping space explorers land on the moon by using rocket fuel made out of the same plastic as… Legos? That’s right; students in the Propulsion Research Lab at Utah State University are 3D-printing hybrid rocket motors that offer a smoother and safer descent performance. On top of that, these rocket motors are more environmentally friendly than traditional propulsion systems! That’s one small step for research, and one giant leap for future moon landings.
