Here it is, our newly built waterfall in our backyard. For this project we took inspiration from Aquascape and many videos from various talented Certified Aquascape Contractors. The waterfalls consists of various types of rocks, that were all locally sourced and manually placed. The gaps and cracks between the rocks were filled with a special black landscaping foam. To power the waterfalls we used an Osaga 30.000L pump, adjustable from 30% to 100%. The spring of the waterfall functions as a bio and plant filter. Water is being pumped to the bottom of the reservoir, after which it flows through plastic bio balls, substrate and lava rock. The filter material houses benificial bacteria and the roots of the plants further filters the water. Of course, the plants will take some time to grow, so the filtering function will only increase with time.
