Join Tom on a motorcycle ride from Golden Grove in St. Thomas, Jamaica, to the Portland parish border and back, with a few interesting stops along the way. This ride was a complete test of several new filming techniques that I hope will make future motorcycle adventures even more enjoyable to watch.
For this ride, I’m testing a microphone inside my helmet, a forward-facing camera capturing the road ahead, a second camera that occasionally shows my reactions while riding, and a pocket camera for filming the people and places I encounter whenever I stop. I also experimented with a moving satellite map showing my route, using Apple Maps for the trip out and Google Maps for the return journey.
I’d really appreciate your honest feedback. Which camera angles did you enjoy the most? Was the helmet microphone an improvement? Did you find the moving map helpful or distracting? Your comments and suggestions will help shape future rides as I continue improving these videos.
It was a fun little adventure, and once I get the bugs worked out… and the bugs wiped off my face shield… I hope to make these motorcycle rides a regular feature here on Red Button Journal.
Thanks for riding along. Bless up yourself, and Amen!
