In today’s episode of Beards & Bangers, I get behind the wheel of my friend Karl’s 2018 BMW 435d Gran Coupe… and things escalate quickly.

This isn’t just any diesel. The 435d packs BMW’s mighty twin-turbo straight-six, xDrive grip and enough torque to rearrange your internal organs. It’s smooth, brutally quick and far more sophisticated than my usual fleet of Rover-shaped nostalgia.

Naturally, we had to try Launch Control.
