Tesla shareholders may be focused on the vision of a potential Tesla-SpaceX combination, but Bradford Ferguson argues there’s one number that matters more than anything else: the ratio.
In this video, Bradford breaks down why the percentage Tesla shareholders would own in a combined Tesla-SpaceX entity could make a massive difference. If SpaceX is valued higher than Tesla when a deal is structured, Tesla shareholders could end up with less than 50% of the combined company — even though Tesla’s robotaxi and Optimus upside may still be far from fully recognized by the market.
This isn’t about whether Tesla and SpaceX would be powerful together. They would be. The real question is whether Tesla shareholders would receive fair economic interest in the combined company, or whether they risk handing over future robotaxi upside at a discount.
Bradford also discloses that he is a SpaceX shareholder, which makes the tension even clearer: what’s good for SpaceX shareholders may not be equally good for Tesla shareholders.
