Tesla just officially unveiled something new on the Cybercab — and it’s not another camera, sensor, or shiny piece of autonomous-driving hardware.
It’s Starlink.
Tesla showed a dedicated Starlink antenna integrated directly into the Cybercab, with a gold-colored cover and flush mounting that makes it look surprisingly… normal.
But then Elon Musk dropped the part that makes this much more interesting.
Musk said all Tesla cars will eventually have Starlink, because, in his words, it’s the only way to deliver massive amounts of bandwidth to billions of vehicles.
Think about that for a second.
Tesla isn’t just building electric cars anymore. It’s building a fleet of connected AI machines that could include your Tesla, Robotaxis, and eventually even Optimus robots.
And if Starlink becomes the high-speed data backbone connecting all of them to Tesla’s AI infrastructure, the relationship between Tesla and SpaceX suddenly gets a lot more interesting.
Some Tesla watchers are already asking the obvious question:
Does this eventually lead to a Tesla-SpaceX merger?
That sounds a little bit too much right - until you remember Musk already has a rocket company, a satellite network, an AI company, an autonomous vehicle fleet, and a humanoid robot project.
At this point, the question may not be whether these technologies will overlap. It’s how far Musk takes the overlap.
