Tesla topped the American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) for 2024 in the luxury segment with Mercedes-Benz, holding steady and gaining notoriety for improvements in complaint handling. Tesla and Mercedes-Benz tied at a score of 83 this year. Tesla’s score was unchanged, while Mercedes-Benz improved four percent from 2023, mostly due to customer satisfaction with its hybrid-electric vehicles.

Baltimore City to spend up to $5 million to buy Tesla passenger vehicles for use by government employees. The city has been purchasing electric vehicles since 2018 but the latest action, on June 5, was the first time that city officials have voted to purchase vehicles from Tesla. It was also the first time that Tesla responded to a request for bids from carmakers seeking to sell vehicles to Baltimore.

It has been learned that Panasonic Holdings (HD) is in the final stages of cooperating with Subaru and Mazda to set up domestic production bases for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Panasonic HD is in effect supplying EV batteries only to Tesla, and by increasing the number of suppliers, it will increase its profitability. Subaru and Mazda aim to secure a stable supply of batteries that have a proven track record for Tesla.

Diplomats get a lot of special privileges all over the world, which must be nice, but there are no special privileges when it comes to allowing imports of new ICE vehicles in Ethiopia, it seems. When Ethiopia implemented an immediate ban on new internal combustion engine vehicle imports earlier this year, it caught many by surprise.
