Terrace Martin – PEACE
One-take solo piano album
Recorded in a single 32-minute performance
My album Peace is a collection of first impulse compositions. I wanted to invite you into the rawest part of my process the moment where 100% of my ideas begin.
To some, it might sound like random piano notes being played… but to my spirit, it’s something else entirely. It’s communication before language. Feeling before structure.
It reminds me of painting. When the brush first touches the paint that’s one step. When the paint meets the canvas that’s another. Those first two steps aren’t always the most beautiful part of the process, but they’re the most necessary. Without them, the beauty never has a chance to exist.
This album lives in those moments. The sketches. The breaths. The unanswered questions.
It’s no different than life… or building relationships. The first conversations, the first silences, the first attempts to understand each other — they may not look perfect, but they’re where everything real begins.
