The 8th part in this series cover the cleanup of the cast parts of the ejector port side and a test assemble of all the parts in the body of the minigun.
This is one I have wanted to do since I got the Terminator finished, I've now got just about all the bits I need to make a start, so it's time to make Frank a new toy.....
The M134 Minigun is a 7.62×51mm NATO, six-barrel rotary machine gun with a high rate of fire (2,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute) which can also fire at a high-sustained rate.[1] It features Gatling-style rotating barrels with an external power source, normally an electric motor. The "Mini" in the name is in comparison to larger caliber designs that use a rotary barrel design, such as General Electric's earlier 20-millimeter M61 Vulcan, and "gun" for the use of rifle caliber bullets instead of shells used by an autocannon.
The General Dynamics RBS-80 Phased Plasma Pulse Gun[citation needed] was a heavy plasma weapon used by Skynet and Resistance forces. When used by the Resistance, it was typically mounted on a vehicle or used as a stationary turret. Terminators, however, being considerably stronger than humans, could lift and carry the weapon with ease. In comparison to the better know Phased Plasma Rifle with a 40-watt range.This gun has a 160-watt range making it a formidable weapon capable of bringing down aircraft or in use against mid level armored vehicles.
