Quick fix when it is too cold to patch a chipped windshield. Most windshield repair kits require a 50°F (10°C) minimum temperature for a while for the compound to cure. If you do not have a heated garage this can be difficult in winter and a temporary fix is needed to keep moisture out and prevent the moisture from freezing, thus making the cracking worse.
