After Moses had an experience on the mountain and became the spokesman for the people, God gave instructions for him to set up the tabernacle and the priest's office to perform ordinances to cleanse the people and to have a place to interact with almighty God. This eventually gives way to a permanent structure built by Solomon, a permanent Temple. Much more lavish and larger than the tabernacle, it all points to a future day where a new relationship, temple, and High Priest will take it's place.
