Introducing a world first: the TELEO (TELecoms on all Earth Orbits) optical communications demonstrator made in France.
TELEO is the first step towards optical fibre from space, enabling high speed internet, connected objects and big data. Its main mission is to establish and maintain a bidirectional laser link with an Optical Ground Station over several days paving the way for a genuine revolution in space telecommunications, with unprecedented speeds.
Now that the health checks have been completed, TELEO is ready to conduct three test campaigns in 2024 with ground stations in France developed with CNES and ONERA and in the Canary Islands developed by Airbus Netherlands and based on an ESA ground station.

The Airbus TELEO demonstrator was developed and integrated as part of the CNES DYSCO project.
