Iain Petrie | Telecine of early 1950s (?) 9.5mm amateur film. The Wye Bridge, Monmouth, Tintern Abbey @IKP1000 | Uploaded December 2019 | Updated October 2024, 18 hours ago.
I bought this film with unknown content, and I'm slowly working my way through it with homemade telecine machine (ie photographing each frame and putting them together to make a movie. The part filmed inside the abbey was completely black even when held up to the light, with only the silhouette of the frames of the window visible, but with long exposures, more detail and the people inside appear. Interesting to think that this is almost certainly the first time this part has been seen, and was not visible to the person who shot this! The Wye Bridge, Monmouth, appears briefly, with an old bus and car on it.
