Here I go over a concept where you would send a machine off on a mission to go and retrieve a mob spawner from a specific location and bring it back to your base!

This is the explanation video for the current Fastest Speedrun in Minecraft. The speedrun exploits a glitch which makes two world process at the same time.

► You cheated! You used commands! ◄
Technically I didn’t use the commands. Command blocks used the commands. Command blocks just “miraculously” appeared in my survival world and executed some commands on me… Do you know that feeling? The feeling of being used… By no less than a command block D: On a more serious note, watch the entire video and don’t skip sections… I addressed this comment at the end of the video.
► Command blocks?! I thought this was a survival minecraft speedrun?! ◄
Command blocks still work in survival worlds with cheats disabled. This can merely be seen as a programming oversight. If command blocks didn’t work with cheats disabled, then I would have to mod the game - which would be cheating… But command blocks do work. So in my books, it’s not cheating.
► This is done in a snapshot, not an official version, therefore it cannot be considered an official speedrun ◄
I leave that for the community to decide. This is the one critique which really does hold a point. It may also be possible to do the same glitch in 1.7.10 but it would have to be a set seed speedrun due to the great restriction of commands. Still I am sure it’s possible to win in under a minute in 1.7.10!
► Why do you have to kill the EnderDragon? Can’t you just setblock an end portal at the players feet? ◄
In this version of Minecraft you can’t do this. My initial method was extremely similar! I’d summon a falling sand entity with the ID of an end portal at the players feet and then setblock the end portal at his feet. Then in the next tick the player would first go through the end portal, followed by the end portal falling sand entity which would send the player, very very quickly into the end. This might still be possible with version switches… But I haven’t tried that yet!
► Why kill the EnderDragon with a primed TNT? Instead you could literally summon him with {HealF:0} ◄
This depends on what rules you follow. A rule that I didn’t mention in the video, but one which I followed is that “The EnderDragon needs to die via either player or environmental damage”. I didn’t count “death by never being alive” as “environmental damage” but depending on how you define the rules you can do that too! :) You can check out my 2nd Video “Technical Speedrun Tactics” to see a few charts on how this would improve the time!
► You used a 3rd party macro tool in your speedrun! You’re cheating! ◄
The tool is used before the survival world is generated and therefore before the timer itself starts. Therefore, given our set of rules, it cannot be defined as cheating.
► Could this be considered as a scripted speed run since it uses the command blocks? ◄
Again like all these things it depends on your definition. A lot of speed runs for Half Life, for instance, are scripted with console commands to make them faster. This could be considered as “scripted with command blocks”. The only difference is that command blocks are *intentional features* of minecraft.
► Youre not actually playing Minecraft... ◄
Thats the definition of any%. Any% means to do any percentage of the game to reach an ending to the game. So that includes 0%, which is what this speed run is.
