The Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 worlds are rumored to be combining into one. MTV’s last ditch effort to save a sinking franchise. With tanking ratings, the shows’ producers have been brainstorming ways to save the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise, and have decided to combine ‘Teen Mom OG’ and ‘Teen Mom 2’ into one new show. But, with two shows becoming one, that will likely mean that some of the cast members will be getting the boot. Currently, there are five girls on each show, but it’s unlikely that all 10 girls will be kept for the new show and not all of the girls are aware of this plan. It has been rumored that Kailyn Lowery, Briana DeJesus, Kayla Jones, and even Amber Portwood are some of the mom’s whose fates are uncertain if the shows were to merge. We have been following the young mothers for years, and it’s argued that they haven’t been teens for almost a decade, so the show’s storyline isn’t as genuine as it once was. Not only that, because the women have been on the show for so long, their salaries have grown tremendously. And with poor ratings, and the series not bringing in as much money as it once did, some things are going to have to give, and that means getting rid of the cast and crew. It’s not confirmed what format will be chosen, as the higher-ups have considered trying to keep some of the cast and just featuring a different combo of girls for each episode.
