Anybody else love westerns? Cuz MAN I was feeling mad inspired when making this remaster here. I’ve always been a fan of western themed things. I’m a HUGE Red Dead Redemption fan, I’ve played both, and honestly those games soundtracks played a huge role in being my inspiration for taking this track in a certain musical direction.
Teehee Valley is a standout track in Superstar Saga in my opinion. And there are really only a few other tracks that grab my attention in that OST. I’ve never actually played Superstar Saga all the way through BUT, as an avid VGM listener, a few of those games’ tracks have made its way into my playlists 🤭 I think I enjoy the original take on Teehee Valley more than the remake though. The remake butchered the lead melody in my opinion. It should’ve stayed as a Pan Flute, not an Ocarina. So that’s why I added the Ocarina as a supplementary instrument, and kept the Pan Flute as the main instrument. I added some strings in the background as well and they took FOREVER to get right. A lot of trial and error within the chords and overall phrasing of the notes. I didn’t want the strings to stand out too much in the composition so I never took them too far and let them stay in the background as a sort of “base” to stand on. There’s a few other background instruments I added to fill some gaps, like the organ and congas. Overall, it’s a very simple composition and I REALLY liked how it turned out. After doing Airway, It feels good to work on a relaxing track where I don’t have to put MY EVERYTHING into it hahaha. I can just sit back, relax, and have fun messing with this gorgeous track. I hope you guys enjoy this remaster of Teehee Valley from Superstar Saga 😎💜
