Tecumseh Trail Thru Hike. I set out to thru hike the Tecumseh Trail with my friend Chris That Hiking Guy. The day started out great and the trail was beautiful. The temps started to rise and we decided to take lunch at the Mountain shelter. After lunch and an hour nap we decided to push on to the Fox Den shelter. After hiking another 8 miles we thought we had some how missed the Fox Den shelter. We were beat from the long miles and heat and with a storm right on top of us we had no choice but to take shelter. We set up our hammocks and tarps and rode out the storm until morning. It was by far the worst storm I have ever been out in. The forecast went from a tornado warning to a thunderstorm warning and then a flash flood warning. We had lighting, hard rain and even hail through the night. The next morning we had discovered we were only a half mile from the Fox Den shelter and we decided to break camp and try to make it to the shelter. After only a minute on trail we came to the first creek crossing which was unpassable due to the flooding. At this point we decided to call off the hike and focus on just getting out of the woods safely. We found a forest road that lead us out to a paved road and called on our friend Chris from Hooks and Hammocks. After sending him our location he came and picked us up and took us back to our trucks. This video is just a reminder of no matter what the weather man says, the weather can always change and you should always be prepared for the worst. I want to give a big shout out and Thank You to Chris from Hooks and Hammocks for coming and picking us up in the middle of no where and taking us back.
