In the lab we often work with tiny concentrations of expensive or complicated to produce component. One of them is DNA 🧬. And we sometimes just need higher concentrations to work with the DNA! In that case the vacuum concentrator is a handy tool💨.
Just place your DNA samples into the machine and let it run for a few hours⏳. The machine rotates the samples 🌀 to make sure that everything stays at the bottom of the tube. And with the help of heat 🔥 and a vacuum 💨 you can reduce the amount of water in the sample and thus increase the concentration 🧪. This all happens slowly and gently so that it’s compatible with more sensitive samples 😌.
Here we just illustrated the process with some colored solutions 🔵🔴, since you wouldn’t see any visual difference with DNA samples.
