Shoutouts to DJ Backtrack for making this sick mod for the technics - ultrapitch on a 1210 PLUS (on this experimental firmware he let me test) there are scales mapped to the fader so you can hit specific notes, and you can transpose, and jump between chromatic/major/minor modes.
I saw that Pioneer are bringing out a similar feature on their new decks, apparently dj Buck Rodgers added that idea (i guess he came up with the same idea separately?) so massive props to him for getting involved and helping the big brands innovate with some feedback from within the scene.
I’m afraid these mods aren’t available anymore, but theres a fair few floating out there.
And of course i should also mention the godfather of technics ultrapitch: KABUSA.com - Kevin invented the OG halfspeed mod and allowed backtrack to run with his own variant.
Anyway, a dope bit of Turntable history I thought should be out there.
