Every single day, for four months now, I have spent every waking moment thinking about how I can achieve a singular goal in 2022: "To produce a sitcom for YouTube about a group of young women who all live together in a suburban household, where each of these people is a degenerate infinity player". I was stung repeatedly by setbacks. Covid-19. People flaking out, failing to do what they promised. Logistical problems. Lack of material. No previous understanding of the video editing software.
I refused to allow any of that to stop me. Day by day, week by week, month by month, I slowly recruited the people I needed, wrote the scripts, shot the scenes, edited the footage. Every minute that I worked on the project I felt myself clawing my way towards that inevitable moment where I'd make a new channel on discord and post the teaser art for the show.
Bostria once referred to my 2021 skits as 'sitcom comedy sketches'. His use of the word 'sitcom' to characterize what I had done that year, really stuck with me. Ever since then, I've thought of nothing but what the theme song would sound like, what the character intros would look like, and what stories we'd tell, mocking tabletop wargaming culture while celebrating it at the same time. Making something incredibly relatable to a group of gamers for whom there is very little in culture reflective of them.
Today, I finished filming the last scene I needed for the first episode of the show.
I fucking did it.
