The Honda S2000's revs counter* was taken directly from the early 90s Formula One cars!!! This particular tachometer* model, was created at the end of 80s by Magneti Marelli for the F1 Top Teams as Ferrari (Prost), Honda McLaren (Ayrton Senna) and, later, for the others teams.
*Tachometer::A device used to indicate the speed of the engine in rpm (revolutions or cycler per minut). The tachometer is mounted on the dahboard or the steering wheel. It helps the driver to know the optimum rpm for changing gears on manual transmissions. A tachometer is also a diagnostic device which a mechanic uses to determine idle speed and other carburetor and running settings. Also called a "rev counter".
