Tears of the Kingdom's trailers have come and gone, and they have left some people worried. Based on a quote given by series producer Eiji Aonuma, many were hoping that TotK would be dark like Majora's Mask. However in the time since, the trailers have showcased a series of mechanics and themes that are bright and silly, like vehicle crafting via the ultrahand ability, and weapon merging via the fuse system, as well as adventurous and light-hearted sky island exploration. It has left many convinced that Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not be dark like MM at all. I argue that BotW 2 will still be dark, but its darkness will be more similar to Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time, as opposed to Majora's Mask.
