What features will we put in this light? ALL OF THEM! (That's why I don't get to the actual teardown until 8 minutes in!)
This is one of the most ludicrous mini disco lights I've taken apart. It has 8 controllable motors and loads of random effects. It requires 26 DMX channels to control, although it can be used in several stand-alone modes too, selected either on the unit or via an RF remote control.
Once again it's using an ARM Cortex processor, but this version doesn't have RDM (Remote Device Management) like some of the other lights I've looked at. It's notable that in auto mode the LEDs all start sequencing before the motors have finished calibrating.
Aside from the 12/24V power supply, the unit has two notable PCBs. The main control PCB and an auxiliary LED driver. The control PCB also drives the 8 motors - a standard DC motor, 6 mini stepper motors and one large stepper motor. The LED drive PCB is controlled with a two line clock/data interface and uses standard chips to create stand alone PWM control signals for a bank of buck drivers that limit the current through the main LEDs, strobe LED modules and the lasers.
The unit also has two fans rounding the motor count up to a respectable 10.
The processor has effectively got six serial interfaces. The LED driver panel, the addressable LEDs, the DMX network, the RF receiver, the display and button interface and its own programming interface.
This is one of the most stuffed lights of this type I've seen, but it all went back together very quickly.
This light cost £45 shipped in the UK, and like many of the disco lights on AliExpress the price varies dramatically. A nice simple search phrase is "26ch disco" as it is advertised as having 26 channels of control. Here's an affiliate link for the UK warehouse unit:-

Although I'm not a fan of lasers in lights like this, these ones will be pointing down when it's ceiling mounted, and the green laser does not appear to be a DPSS type, so it shouldn't have extra infrared laser output.
