TOPICS WE DISCUSSED INCLUDE…
1// Technical — software and hardware required. How do you replace handouts, white board, slides, etc.
2// Administrative — how do you convert an in-person class to an online class? How do you manage student attention when you can’t see who’s not paying attention?
3// Emotional / psychological — this is going to be a BIG change for both students and teachers who are used to being in a room full of peers, not being isolated at home, which has affects we won’t be able to easily monitor.
My guests include…
Will Percy — The School Principal in a bilingual school in Chengdu, accredited Executive Coach and Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Professional Development, with over a decade of school leadership experience China, leading in bilingual, state and international schools. Will strategically harnesses the innate power of technology, data and rigorous education values to equip students and teachers with the innovative tools they need to attain academic success.
Brent Schlenker — An elearning consultant specializing in social learning, learning communities, and live streaming technologies. He’s worked for and consulted with companies of all sizes using technology to build cultures of learning, improved customer experiences, and educational opportunities to global audiences. His current community effort is at http://thelearntrain.community supporting training, and learning & development professionals.
Bob “BugBob” Allen — An entomologist, botanist, instructor, nature photographer, and author. He is an Adjunct Professor of Biology at both Santiago Canyon College & Orange Coast College in southern California. As a biologist, he was named as a Research Associate in Entomology by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and a Research Associate at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, California.
