Every teacher has a box, drawer, shelf, or cabinet filled with student gifts.
The handwritten notes. The little drawings. The ceramic projects. The random trinkets students made years ago.
Some of those items still carry powerful memories. Others have become things we're holding onto simply because we feel guilty getting rid of them.
This summer, as you're cleaning and organizing your classroom, remember this: the relationship mattered more than the object.
