Tea Towel Holder Pattern:
Materials
Yarn: 25 y 100% Cotton, size 4 medium weight
Hook: 4.00 or 4.25 mm hook (G/6)
A Plastic Button, Needle & Thread
Scissors, Yarn Needle, Measuring Tape
Horizontal Handle Version (Oven Door)
Pattern – CH 25, Join with a sl st to the first ch to make a Ring
R1: ch 1, sc in each ch around (25). Join with a sl st to the first sc. Ch 1, do not turn.
R2: sc into the same st as joining, sc into each of the next 7 sts (8). Ch 1, turn.
R3: sc into the first st, *ch 1, skip a st, sc into the next st* repeat 3 times, sc into the last st (8). Ch 1 turn.
R4 – R18: repeat rows 3 until piece measures 15 cm or 6”. Ch 1, turn.
R19 (Buttonhole Row): sc into the first 4 sts & sps, (ch 4, sc) into the next st and sc into the remaining sts and sps across (8 sc, 1 ch-3 loop). Fasten off and weave in end.
Sew button to top of Ring opposite Buttonhole.
Vertical Handle Version (Fridge Door - button will be to the back)
Pattern – CH 25, Join with a sl st to the first ch to make a Ring
R1: ch 1, sc in each ch around (25). Join with a sl st to the first sc. Ch 11, turn.
R2: sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch back to Ring, sc in the next 8 sts across Ring, ch 11, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch back to Ring, sl st into the bottom of the last sc attached to Ring (28). Sl st (surface chain) across the 8 sts on the Ring, sl st along each of the 10 foundation chains out the first "arm". Ch 1, turn.
R3: sc into the first st, *ch 1, skip a st, sc into the next st* repeat 3 times, sc into the last st (28). Ch 1 turn.
R4 – R7: repeat rows 3 until piece measures 5 cm or 2”. Ch 1, rotate to work across short edge.
Buttonhole: sc into the edge of the last st of R7, sc into the edge of the next 2 rows, ch 4, sc into the edge of the last 4 rows. Fasten off and weave in end. Sew button to short edge opposite Buttonhole.
