Experimental Bin - t bags only
Result - my worms failed to thrive in a tea bag only bin confirming what I saw in the previous tea bag only bin, namely the worms will live and work but they won't thrive and there appears to be a large amount of die off based on the numbers. We started with 30 worms - I would have expected closer to 600 worms in the bin after 23 weeks and for that number to include a lot more adults. The ph of the bedding was fine at 7 so the ph of the bin wasn't an issue for the worms.
So the worms will live and work in a tea bag only worm bin but my experience is they won't thrive and there seems to be a high rate of die off as I would have expected a lot more adults in there than there were.
