Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "TDS Training".
Map author: Claws n Jaws.
Map review:
TDS Training was originally a multiplayer map intended for training clan members in the TDS clan. The map author, Claws n Jaws and myself were in the TDS clan for a short time and he walked me through how this map worked. Claws intentionally hid a hacking tool under the truck that was needed for players fully explore what the map had to offer. He thought this would keep primarily TDS clan members in the know and everyone else would be lost.
The map layout is one large center room joined by four adjacent rooms holding the four character classes. The upper floor above the center room contains the controls to open the doors and traps in the map. Players need to initially spawn as a marine, get the hacking tool, find the hidden floor elevator, hack the hidden hacking panel which reveals a new elevator to take the player to the control room. The player would then control what enemies and traps their fellow players will encounter.
Turns out this map runs pretty good in single player. Therefore, I added it to Happy Hunting Map Pack. The only issue with the map in single player is that when the player is in the control room and sets off the enemy spawns, turrets, etc, the player must then take the elevators back to get into combat. It's a little bit tedious getting back and forth, but it's still very playable. Unfortunately the turret will target the player, so be careful. This map is recommended.
Note: I'm using some HD textures via Yaji's High Quality Resolution Textures v2 and my Blood n' Guts mod for the gore.
