A generous donation by Taylor Swift is helping one Connecticut family through an incredibly difficult recovery.
Ashley Taunton was seriously injured July 18 after stopping to help three teenagers whose vehicle had hydroplaned off Interstate 95 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island.
Taunton said she was trying to help the teens when she saw another vehicle approaching.
“I just saw the car coming, really fast,” Taunton said. “I got hit, and it felt like being rolled by a huge wave, but much more intense.”
As the Taunton family dealt with the physical and financial toll of the crash, they created a GoFundMe campaign to help with expenses.
Then came a donation they never expected.
Taylor Swift donated $50,000 to the fundraiser.
