ABOUT THE SERIES ↓
The Makeup of the Zodiac Series is my first makeup series where I create extreme, theatrical looks of each sign based on my personal interpretation of the sign's characteristics and symbolism. These looks will not follow the typical interpretations people have done in the past (i.e.; many people do a mermaid look for Pisces, but I don't want to do that). I try to upload a new look once per month.
TAURUS is ruled by the planet Venus, and therefore has a strong taste for aesthetics--such as art, material goods, and beauty. They like to reward themselves but tend to be practical and down-to-earth at the same time. In contrast, they are symbolized by the bull, and can at times be stubborn or bull-headed. I decided to take this sign's love for aesthetics and make it into a look. I think masquerade masks are quite elegant and pretty, eh? ^_^ I decided to create a "pretty" look to match this sign.
The "main" birthstone for Taurus is emerald, but I didn't have anything really green around, so I opted for a garnet color, since that also happens to be an alternative birthstone. I used some fabric from Jo-Ann's that has these really pretty gold flecks in it, perfect for Taurus ^_^
I'm quite excited for Gemini! Gemini will be posted on July 3rd.
NEXT WEEK I will be doing a review plus a more "natural" makeup look featuring a new palette I just received ^_^
