Cassette version credits:
This was played from a Sony Walkman MP3 Player (because it outputs no interfering signals) to a Maxell UR90 cassette. I used a Sharp RD661-AV cassette recorder for this. Not the best, but that wasn't the point. The point was to capture texture and add a new layer of degradation to the album.
I played it back in a Yamaha KX-W492 Cassette Deck, recording it to my Zoom H5. I'm not sure why the sound balance was so off, I haven't had this problem before with things I've recorded to cassette. It wasn't my cassette deck, as this sound balance was an issue across multiple tape players. I re-balanced it in Audition though so you weren't assaulted by the album in the left ear.

Just an idea I felt like throwing out there. I have a lot of little audio clips scattered all over my disk. Most of these I send to my friends, but some of these Ive posted to my Patreon. Anyways, Im gonna elaborate on some of these.
Rez and Myth Test Scene - While developing Emergence and Insurgence, I made a new character who goes by the codename Myth (wonder who that is based on). Rez and Myth have a dynamic that I can describe as Eminem and Dr. Dre, Rez being Eminem. Mythical Sushi was so excited to voice this character, but he doesnt appear until the very end of Insurgence, so I whipped up a little test scene script for him and I to test out their dynamic. The scene came from a joke I or Myth said in call one day: What if Myth was just wandering around and Rez just flew in via a window at his feet, and all he said was: oh hey Rez, I was wondering where you were at.
Kintsugi - Original Ending
When Kintsugi first started out, it was meant to be a short album, consisting of only 10 or so tracks. It was also originally called Gilded Teeth. It was an extremely bitter and angry album. This was the original ending where Ghost basically tells the listener to get lost. I didnt like how bitter it was though, so I experimented with a few more endings before deciding to end it on THE LOVE. I forgot to include this in Bluebird, and only included the much darker ending that I also cut.
Father I Am Distressed
One of the first sessions from Every Once in a While, the album Ive been working on since April. I dont think Im gonna use this on the album and its too short and wacky and doesnt really fit the tone of the rest of the project.
It Just Hurts
This was something I said to someone on Discord one night that I recorded for... reasons? I do weird things when Im depressed. I was thinking about including it on Every Once in a While, but its too bitter for the album, so I didnt use it.
In Theory - Title Track Demo
This was the song that started the whole project. Rag sent me the melody layered over some ambience stuff I sent him. It didnt really match well with the ambience in the background, so I asked him to send me the melody and Id take a crack at it. This demo is what I made in about an hour or so. I really liked the concept, so I fleshed it out more later that night until we got the title track for In Theory.
DR550 and FANGS Test Sessions With the Strega
The Strega is such an interesting beast of sound, and as soon as I get a new device in the office, I test it with the Strega to see what happens. The DR550 is a drum machine from 1990 I recently acquired at a pawn shop. I pretty much only use it with the Strega, but its nice to have a more expansive drum kit, one of these days Ill learn how to program it. Ive used the DR550 in a few tracks so far, most notably What Do Dragons Dream Of, My Wasting Time remix, and future tracks on EOW.
FANGS is a distortion pedal I bought recently. I got it for my bfs electric guitar, but of course, I knew I could use it for the Strega. The two work very well together. I recently combined the Strega, the FANGS, and my keyboards to make something (that was a cable nightmare).

I figured with this new war starting, I should make a video explaining the first one for those who dont remember/know what happened.
The Great War, as its called, was a video war between me and PMK back in 2009. He posted a video declaring war on me for using Lucario to represent myself since he was already using Lucario. He was only joking, but I decided to respond with my own video and it continued from there. I would make a video, he would make a video and we would banter back and forth with each and a ridiculous story unfolded. This video is a summary of that first classic war, covering all of the major events that occurred. Unlike today, none of these had a script (Until the very last part). They were all improvised and the ideas came from working off the last persons part.")

This took me 16 hours, but it was fun.
So I did this for MULTIPLE reasons.
The main one being is that I wanted to see if my normal voice even fit Rez. Rezs character has evolved beyond a persona for me now and I adore the shit out of her. But I was unsure if my normal voice even fit her character, as I imagine her with a smoother voice than what I can do. This didnt really confirm or deny anything, Im still very much on the fence about it.
I also wanted to practice my voice acting as well. I can do Orintheous just fine, but my normal voice, believe it or not, I struggle with. Rezs Will you stop following me?! was me legitimately getting angry over the fact that I had to redo this multiple times just to get even slightly usable takes. Im still not satisfied with it, sigh.
And lastly, I had already planned to machinimate this scene from The Lion King but with Kyon and Orintheous 4 years ago. I never did it because that was gonna be a part of proto-Orintheous Revenge. Decided to revisit the idea but with Rez and Orintheous and just voice act it myself. If youve been following my channel for years, you know that The Lion King is something I borrow a lot of ideas and music from. Its a massive inspiration for me, and I reference it frequently. So honestly, this should come at no surprise to long time viewers that I did this.
This scene in itself fits Rezs story pretty perfectly. Rezs whole story (so far) is that shes on a quest to find out who she is, as she has no idea. She knows she has some sort of relation to RyeDragon though, but shes not sure what (shes not actually RyeDragons child by the way, I threw in the RyeDragons boy for other reasons). Orintheous comes along for the ride to help Rez discover who she is.
And to answer the possible question: Wait, if Rez is a she, then why did Orintheous call her RyeDragons boy?
Rez is genderless, thats my answer to that.
This whole video was done using BrawlBox and Photoshop. Put together in Vegas Movie Studio. Rez and Orintheous were voiced by me.
