Into the Wild Films | TASMANIA: The Tarkine Wilderness @IntotheWildFilms | Uploaded March 2020 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
Tasmania’s Tarkine (takayna) region is located in the remote north west of the island of Tasmania. The Tarkine is notable for being the largest expanse of cool temperate rainforest in Australia, having river systems largely unaffected by human activity and a wild coastline across which blows the cleanest air on the planet. In this video we explore the Tarkine’s Trowutta region, the limestone sinkhole, Dempster Plains, West Point, the ‘Edge of the World’ at the mouth of Arthur River and finally the wild rocky coastline of Sarah Anne Rocks.
