Yet here she is, ducking serious intellectual debates with creators like Dr. Dave Anderson, only to platform flawed, surface-level arguments comparing Black Americans in the US to Chinese people living in France.
Having lived on the continent in Uganda for years, I break down the stark reality of what Pan-Africanism looks like on the ground versus the fantasy pushed online. We examine why DNA does not equal culture, the tribal and cultural barriers between Black Americans and continental Africans, and why trying to force an African identity on descendants of American slavery ignores both our unique history and what Africans themselves tell us when we get there.
