Made by myself and Kriller37 (who initially suggested the idea of crouch-clipping in 1-2 to save a framerule, and also found and TASed the second quest 8-2 BBG setup).

This TAS has been basically complete for almost two years at this point, but neither myself nor Kriller37 had gotten around to publishing it until now.
This run also obsoletes my warps Fire Mario TAS (youtu.be/85B3_F3vi2E), saving one framerule in 1-2 for a time of 4:59.690 (4:56.412 RTA timing).

Grabbing a fire flower in Quest 1 and using it to fire kill the first 8-4 Bowser turns out to be barely faster than doing the entire run as small Mario...by 4 frames.
The fire kill itself saves 137 frames from skipping the bridge collapsing animation, which ends up rounding to 7 framerules, or 147 frames. However, grabbing the two powerups costs 122 frames and one framerule (in 1-2) over the small-only route, bringing the overall time save to just 147 – 122 – 21 = 4 frames.

Fun fact, with big/fire Mario you can actually get 1 framerule faster in 4-2 compared to the "lightning 4-2" framerule that the small Mario warps TAS gets. But because I chose to grab the fire flower in 4-2, I lost that framerule putting me back on the standard "lightning" framerule. I could have alternatively grabbed the fire flower in 4-1, 8-2, or 8-3; these grabs all lose 1 framerule but then I can make up that time by saving the extra framerule in 4-2. So at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter whether you grab the fire flower in 4-1, 4-2, 8-2, or 8-3—they are all the same speed.
(Although, the 8-3 fire flower grab *is* very suspiciously close to losing 0 framerules. Both Kriller37 and I have tried to save that framerule, to no avail. But maybe there's still some hidden strategy that could work...?)
