got 5th place (better than we thought we'd do). galoomba did the majority of the tasing on this. i wrote a program to find the fastest route, and it did not end up being the winning route. makes sense tho. here's the program: github.com/tjk113/route-bruteforcer
Task 15:
Inside the Snowman's Land igloo, start by closing the 100 coin star text box. Collect all 6 red coins and end by leaving the igloo.
• You can Wallkick a maximum of 3 times, Sideflip a maximum of 3 times, and Long Jump a maximum of 3 times
Timing starts when Mario is first able to move, and ends when he enters the "disappeared" action

i think holding down and A after clipping through the mountain lets you swim up to the surface faster and therefore longjump earlier (manama told me this awhile back). i forget who originally came up with the left clip clip and left side triple strats, unfortunately, but it wasnt me.")

triple jump dive instead of regular triple jump at the end saves a couple frames. maybe you can get better rng on the thwomp and land on it higher up so you avoid moving against the wall of the star platform? idk. i also did a tas with the rta strat ending: https://youtu.be/MC_yyPc_KYw")

got 6th place. one of my better placements lately, but i couldve done much better had i waited for a better cycle on the first rotating platform. oh well.
Task 12:
From a waking up start, touch the rotating firespewer platform (right-most one in the image), then continue to touch at least 3 more spinning platforms (left on the map).
Finish by collecting the custom placed star.
Touching means either:
- Marios wall reference at the end of a frame belongs to the platform
- Mario is in a ground action and his floor reference at the end of a frame belongs to the platform
Timing starts when Mario is first able to move after waking up and ends on the first frame of star dance celebration.")
