Tool-assisted superplay (TAS) of Golgo 13 Arcade $37,720,940 (With cutscenes)
-Game Difficulty: Normal
-This is my first try at this game. Now that I know the game better, I could make a better TAS (and I am doing it right now).
-You can shoot at a maximum of 10 shots per second (every 6 frames). Not that you often have the opportunity to do that since in 15 out of 20 stages you only have one bullet to shoot.
-But you can only shoot on a multiple of 3 frames. So in a TAS, if I want to shoot later, I can't shoot on the next frame but only 3 frames later.
-For each stage you earn money. The amount of money depends on 2 variables:
-Time
-Accuracy

-At each stage you have to shoot as fast as possible
-You lose $10,000 for every second you let pass
-For example, on stage 12, you have two ropes to shoot, here are some values that I obtained by shooting at different times:
-0.96s = $1,945,700
-1.01s = $1,945,200
-1.06s = $1,944,700
-2:01s = $1,935,200
-As it is not possible to shoot before 0.86 sec, the game steals almost 10,000 points from us :(

-For stages where you can shoot more than one bullet, your rating (out of 1000) will drop depending on the number of bullets that did not hit the target.
-For stages where you only have one bullet to shoot, you get a score (out of 1000) on shot accuracy measuring how close you were to the perfect shot.
-The awarded score is not linear and is higher the closer you get to 1000.
-Stages with multiple bullets, for example on stage 12 you have to shoot 2 ropes, if you shoot them with 2 shots you get 1000 points.
-Here are the points I got for two or more shots (each shot adds 0.1 seconds to the time since we can't shoot faster than 10 shots per second)

-When shooting a human, there are 2 main regions: the heart and the head. You get a lot more points for headshots.
-As far as I know if you hit the heart region you get +10% and if you hit the head you get +30% regardless of accuracy. Everywhere else you get a negative %.

My score should have been 1,549,440 if it hadnt been for a bug.
NOTES:
-The game was produced by Toru Iwatani, known as the creator of Pac-Man. It was created as a response to Taitos 1986 arcade title Arkanoid, which helped revive the block breaker genre and inspire waves of its own clone games. (wikipedia)
-The choice of the angle the ball bounces off the paddle is less than I would have liked, which is why some levels took so long to complete
-The game gave me 255 lives after killing the final boss.
I ran MAME in debug mode to monitor the memory location of lives. The 255 lives appear in memory when the 2nd block of the boss is broken.
I was thinking that on stage 32 there was maybe too much balls at the same time on the screen (11), so I redid the end of the TAS by keeping only 3 balls on the stage 32 and I still received 255 lives.
Even if I lose a life between the 1st and 2nd block of the boss, I still receive 255 lives when the 2nd block breaks.
So, I dont have a good explanation on what is causing this bug.
At the end you get 100,000 points for each life, I should have gotten 700,000 bonus points instead of 25,500,000, so my real score is 1,549,440 points.

-It is possible to finish first at the end of the 4th section at 500cc.
-The TAS is 2nd because I lost some time braking to get more points.
-With 500cc and 750cc, in the dirt sections, I got almost every possible point.
-The score of this TAS is much higher than what I have seen in other videos.
-It seems to me that it is impossible to finish 1st at 1200cc.
-At 750cc Im sure its possible to finish better than 6th. But Im not sure that finishing 1st is possible.
-This is another game that refreshes at 56 or 57 fps, which is why the background scrolling isnt smooth as I would have liked.

This video demonstrate the training course glitch in Paperboy Arcade (Rev 1 and Rev 2).
In the training course at the end of a day, there is a 1 pixel gap between the hit-box of the finish line and the hit-box of the fence on the right of the finish line. If you ride between those two hit-box, the game will let you past the end.
Then you ride in what seem like the training course but you ride in garbage and the more you go the more you corrupt the memory.
The third time you see the finish line, the hit-box will work, you can end there or redo the trick but you corrupt more and more the memory and eventually the game will reset.
If youre lucky, you may end up with a huge score, but since memory is corrupted, its not guaranteed to work every time.

From the insert coin to the display of all the treasures, it took 7:23 min for a score of 333180.
NOTE:
-Since the monsters try to avoid the arrow, I sometimes fire one so that they get out of my way.
-Changing of direction of the character in a chamber take 5 frames, so I try to change direction as less as possible.
-On level 8 I miss the x9 by 1 or 2 seconds, I will have to work on that.

Thanks to SQR Y3 for pointing out that I was missing points.
You normally get 100 points times the number of matched blocks but if you match chests (wooden blocks with a kanji on them) you get 1000 points times the number of matched blocks unless that match is at the end of the stage.
I had 4 stages I was matching the chests at the end of the stage, so I fixed that and got over 20,000 more points.

Dharma Doujou is one of the best puzzle games Ive ever played. It really is a fun brain teaser.
You have the choice to play with a boy or a girl.
If you start the game by pressing the Player 1 button, you play with the boy, if you press the Player 2 button you play with the girl (but you have to play with the player 2 controls).
After each stage you get a Time and a Miss bonus.
The Time bonus starts at 12800 and decreases proportionally to the height of the critter that is on the left of the screen.
But you can slow it down by making matches. Depending on the symbol you are matching, some matches are more effective than others.
The Miss bonus starts at 3000 points and you lose 100 points for each Miss.
When you make a match, you get 100 points multiplied by the number of matching blocks.
Unless you match chests (wooden blocks with a kanji on them) you can get 1000 points times the number of blocks unless you match this at the end of the stage.
The layout of the blocks for a level is not random. There is a fixed number of layouts available for each stage. (from 3 to 8 layouts for each stage)

I found 87 different layouts. I may be missing one (or two) layouts because my method of listing them depends on the rng. If you find a layout that is not in my list, please tell me.
The layout presented to the player is randomized from the available layouts for the stage.
In the TAS I manipulated the rng to get the layout for which I had the best pattern to beat it with as few Miss as possible. To do this, I simply inserted empty frames before the last move of the previous stage until I got what I wanted. The delay is most noticeable at the end of stage 3. (2:32)
To do a stage , I had to figure out what the best moves are to complete the stage as quickly as possible.
To help me with this task, I developed a small Windows application that allows me to play any layout of any stage much faster than I could in game.
With this, I was able to try many strategies and optimize moves to minimize misses and minimize character movement.
Then I modified my application so that it can play randomly alone except when a match can be made.
It worked well until about stage 12, when my simulator was wasting most of its time doing Game over games due to lack of space to move blocks around. So I modified it so that it cant lose by always playing all the blocks in the top row.
This application simulates a few million games per minute. Eventually it produced some interesting patterns that I manually optimized. You can see the result of this in the TAS. But Im sure it could be optimized more but I think the result is not too bad.

Goal of this TAS:
-Reach the highest score possible without using the death trick
-In my next video I will use the death trick that consist to die at the end of wave 8 to redo the complete wave 8 many times. With that method I think I will reach around 3,800,000.

-I bump enemies to make them crash to have 1000 points instead of 500 when you fire on them.
-In the last section, in the death star, it is possible to pass between the left wall and the obstacles, but not on every position. In level 7 I demonstrate some position that work.

Tool-assisted superplay (TAS) of Point blank 3 Arcade Insane (264,329)
-The TAS can mostly shoot at 20 shots per second (every 3 frames) except about once per second where I had to insert a 4th frame.
Because of that, in the stage at 7:50 where I have to shoot as quickly as possible, I was only able to shoot 193 times instead of almost 200 (10 sec at 20 shots per second = 200)
-I could have made a few additional points:
-at 1:02 this stage is not perfectly optimized, I could have shot Dan and Don a few more times.
-at 6:54, I could have shot Dan (or Don?) to slow him down and shoot more enemies in the last 5 seconds.
-at 8:24 I could control Don more by shooting him to put more cans in the tray. (I did it a bit at 8:34)
-In the Ducks on the River stage (5:52) I couldnt shoot the ducks at the very top of the river because moving the target affected the rng, so if I moved the target too early, the duck I wanted shoot would appear in another location and I would only see it when I replayed the TAS. So, to be safe, I decided to shoot the ducks after the first fall.
-Its funny how the 9:01 stage can be almost over before the balls have finished falling.
