32nd developmental candidate. ISM9077.
And this one went in a direction we did not fully expect. We started by applying PandaOmics to rank targets across ocular diseases and create high-confidence disease-target associations.
Target Y came up strongly implicated in dry AMD, uveitis, and dry eye disease. But also in multiple age-related diseases beyond ophthalmology. The efficacy signal in ophthalmic models was the clearest, so we made a significant bet on this program completely from scratch. Multi-parameter optimized structure, balancing activity, potency, safety, pharmacokinetics, and drug delivery.
Many companies have been chasing targets in this space for years without finding a molecule with a balanced profile. We designed and selected ISM9077 using Chemistry42 and it delivers. Preclinical studies showed encouraging efficacy across dry AMD, uveitis, and dry eye disease models. Three species, 28-day DRFs in rat, rabbit, and monkey. Large therapeutic window. And the molecule can be administered as an eye drop or orally. Both.
Target Y has not been previously associated with multiple ocular diseases, especially dry AMD. We have patented many molecules for this indication. ISM9077 is our 32nd PCC since 2021. 13 of those have received IND clearance. And consistent with our dual-purpose strategy, Target Y is also implicated in aging and age-related diseases. Ophthalmology is the initial focus. The biology points further. We are in no rush to license this one out. We have high confidence in this asset. But we are always open to in-depth discussions with the right partner.
