“I’ve never dealt with depression before, ever. I was in such a dark place, and about a month into it I went, ‘Oh, this isn’t going away.’
I had an older brother, and he passed away from a heart attack. He was someone who had lived his life in fear. That became something and I was like, 'God, I don’t want to live my life like that.'
Fear is a huge killer so I set a goal not to be afraid. What is the worst that can happen? My best friend likes to say, ‘What if I faint?’ I go, ‘Then you faint. Go on, faint! So be it.’
It was truly a horrible period that turned out to be one of the best periods because it spurred me into action. It’s about women not being afraid. I’ll just be disgusting. Sometimes I think we need to show our dicks.
Unfortunately, sometimes we are put in the position of, ‘Well, she’s a bitch.’ That’s the beauty of getting older. You don’t give a damn.”
