In this video, Eddy walks through a recent tap test using the GH-60 tapping arm.
A customer brought in some parts to see how the GH-60 could handle their application. These parts are used in large reciprocating compressors for the gas and oil industry.
Previously, these threads were being tapped on a large drill press, requiring multiple trips through the machine and slowing down the process.
For this test, we tapped 3" NPT threads in aluminum and cast iron to demonstrate how the GH-60 performs in softer materials. While the GH-60 is rated for 2" taps in mild steel, this test shows how the arm can handle larger taps when working with less demanding materials.
The result is a faster, more streamlined tapping process with accurate and repeatable results in a single setup.
