The year's 1970, two years after the steam banned was finalised on The Mainland, but while Sodor doesn't have to fear about diesels taking over, The Fat Controller did purchase a few of them to help on his railway. Two of them being the new Sodor Ironworks twins, 'Arry and Bert, who both view steam engines as nothing more than scrap metal to smelt down. But one night an old scrap engine gives Bert some thoughts to think about his view about scrapping steam engines.
