Ralph arrives at the tower, but is tricked and stabbed by Scarlet with her dagger. Scarlet attempts to forcefully take Merida to a new hiding place, but Merida pleads that if allowed to heal the dying Ralph, she will submit quietly. Scarlet reluctantly agrees, but Ralph, not wanting Merida to be a permanent captive, cuts her hair before she can heal him. Merida's hair turns brown, and a horrified Scarlet suddenly ages rapidly before Alvin uses Merida's hair to cause the disintegrating Scarlet to fall from the tower, turning to dust in the process before she hits the ground.
