Tamron sent me their brand new 16-30mm f/2.8 lens for Nikon Z – before it's been released to the public.

In this hands-on field test, I take the lens deep into the Australian bush to see how it performs in real conditions — waterfalls, foggy woodlands, and early morning light. This isn’t a lab test or spec breakdown. It’s real-world landscape photography using the Tamron 16-30mm on a Nikon Z mirrorless camera.

I focus on how the lens handles light, contrast, wide compositions, and what it’s actually like to shoot with in the field. If you’re a Nikon Z shooter or landscape photographer wondering if this lens is worth picking up, this video should help.

📷 Shot on: Nikon Z camera + Tamron 16-30mm f/2.8
🎞️ Location: Foggy forest + waterfall in Victoria
🎞️ Style: Hands-on, slow photography, natural light
