TAMPA, Fla. (November 25, 2024) -- The Tampa Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to stay vigilant as they begin their holiday shopping. With increased foot traffic and road congestion the department is stepping up patrols to ensure safety throughout the city.
“Our goal is to create a visible presence in shopping areas and in neighborhoods to deter thieves and keep our community safe,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “With more people out shopping and receiving packages, we want to remind everyone to stay alert and take simple precautions to protect themselves and their belongings.”
