So for my Artist Development class we were split into groups of 4/5 and tasked with showcasing a recording of any song with the focus being on the recording process. So me and my group decided to have fun since I was the experienced producer so we didnt need to worry about that side of the project, so we called ourselves "Tamba and The Rines" and I came up with a simple pop punk chord progression and the song stemmed from there.
Me and my friend Nathan went into a room the next week and hashed out lyrics and vocal melodies for the song and we had fun doing that, pretty proud of them too!
(We were going to make this song about Nathan's insane gross chest cough but decided to just make the lyrics a generic punk type lyrics but still keep the cough idea by having Nathan cough right before the intro comes in.)
Another friend Evan came up with an awesome groovy bassline and it fits amazingly well in a pop punk context. It was so fun recording all of the guys, especially the drummer Cian who is fuckin' stellar at drums, and he even said this song was abit difficult because of the 180BPM tempo lol.
The funny thing is, this isn't even going towards any academic % or grades, its just supposed to be a fun group project and we definitely decided to have fun with it. NGL I'm stoked for the class and lecturers to hear it and also I want to hear what the other groups are cooking 👹👹
