Author and Skeptic Society President Michael Shermer talks about free will and moral responsibility in a secular society.

Michael Shermer is the Editor-in-Chief of Skeptic Magazine and Founder of The Skeptics Society. He is an adjunct professor at Claremont Graduate University and Chapman University and host of the Skeptics Distinguished Science Lecture Series at Caltech. A monthly columnist for Scientific American magazine, Dr. Shermer’s writing has also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Science, and many other publications. He has appeared on such television shows as The Colbert Report, 20/20, Dateline NBC, and Charlie Rose, and has also been interviewed for countless science and history documentaries on PBS, A&E, the Discovery Channel, HISTORY, the Science Channel, and TLC. Dr. Shermer is author of over 10 books including Why People Believe Weird Things, Why Darwin Matters and most recently, The Believing Brain: From Ghosts and Gods to Politics and Conspiracies—How We Construct Beliefs and Reinforce Them as Truths.
